46-year-old Attleboro man died after jet ski accident in Massachusetts pond, police said

An Attleboro man died when his jet ski capsized in the water Saturday afternoon, according to Rutland police.

Police did not release the 46-year-old’s identity and said they would notify his family.

Police and firefighters were called to Turkey Hill Pond around 4:23 p.m. after the Attleboro man’s jet ski overturned and disappeared underwater.

Witnesses told police that the man appeared to be in distress before he went under.

Authorities searched the pond by boat and on land. Several fire departments as well as the Massachusetts State Police and the Environmental Police assisted in the search.

Divers recovered the body of the man from Attleboro at around 7:49 p.m.

Police, including detectives from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating the incident.
