An internal preliminary investigation has dismissed sexual abuse charges against West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose. The investigation was conducted by a panel at the Raj Bhavan and has dismissed the charge filed by a former employee. The report claims the charges were baseless. The report, prepared by former District Judge of Pondicherry Judicial Service D. Ramabathirani, said the alleged sexual misconduct against the Governor on April 24 and May 2 was “ruled out as baseless”. Besides considering several newspaper clippings between May 3 and 7 this year reporting the alleged incident at the Raj Bhavan, the one-man inquiry committee also questioned eight Raj Bhavan employees as witnesses, including two ADCs and the Governor’s OSD, to reach its conclusion.
