James Vaughn found dead under off-road vehicle in Knox County

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – The family of a Knox County man is mourning after his body was found Saturday.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook that officers were dispatched Saturday morning to find the body of a man “trapped under an ATV.”

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, the body was identified by the Knox County Deputy Coroner as 59-year-old James Vaughn of Swan Pond.

Authorities said the family of 59-year-old James Vaughn had been searching for him “all night” after not hearing from him since about 2 p.m. Friday. Vaughn had told his family he was “on his way to get some wood” and had not returned.

Police said Vaughn’s death is currently under investigation.
