Bowling Green man arrested for second car theft in 2 months

BROWNSVILLE, Kentucky – A Bowling Green man is facing auto theft charges for the second time in less than a month.

According to a uniform complaint, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint Wednesday about a person stealing a vehicle in the 600 block of Washington Street in Brownsville.

According to officials, the victim stated that the suspect took control of her vehicle and fled to Tennessee.

The vehicle was later found and 28-year-old Jordan Watt of Bowling Green was arrested.

According to deputies, it was confirmed that Watt had stolen credit cards from another vehicle and used them out of state.

He is charged with auto theft by unauthorized taking or disposing of a passenger vehicle valued between $10,000 and $1,000,000, credit card fraud, theft by unauthorized taking or disposing of the contents of a passenger vehicle valued between $1,000 and $10,000, credit card fraud between $500 and $1,000, and theft of the identity of another person without that person’s consent.

Watt was also arrested last month after police say he used an ATV in a car theft in Edmonson County.

He remains in the Hart County Jail on $20,000 bail.
