One person died in accident on I-16

Two crashes on Interstate 16 left one person dead and at least one other seriously injured Wednesday night. Georgia State Patrol officials were investigating a crash between a car and a truck on westbound I-16 near mile marker 117 — about a mile from U.S. 301 South — when the second crash occurred, involving two semi-trucks, according to information exchanged between dispatchers and emergency responders. The driver of a semi-truck was killed in the second crash.
