Rape: 25-year-old woman raped by Insta boyfriend in Bhopal | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A 25-year-old woman allegedly befriended a man from Sehore through Instagram who raped her in her rented house in Habibganj despite promising her marriage. Police said that the complainant hails from a neighbouring district. In her complaint, she stated that she got a job in a private company around six years ago and moved to Habibganj. She stated that she came in touch with the accused Arvind Ahirwar, a resident of Shahganj in Sehore district, through Instagram. He befriended her and started meeting her in Bhopal. She alleged that the accused met her in her rented house in November 2020 and raped her. When she protested, he promised to marry her and has been raping her repeatedly since then. Whenever she asked him to marry her, he found excuses. Recently, when she pressured him for marriage, he flatly refused. Feeling cheated, she reported the matter to Sehore police and filed a complaint. Sehore police did not file an FIR and forwarded the case report to Habibganj police for further investigation. Habibganj police registered a case.
