Fire investigation underway at Frayser church | News

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – A fire investigation was underway at a church in Frayser Thursday morning.

Memphis Police (MPD) said they were called to Whitney Avenue and Northgate Street for traffic control to cover a church fire. The 911 call came in just before 3:40 a.m.

FOX13 reached out to the Memphis Fire Department for more details but did not receive a response.

When FOX13 arrived on scene, it found a building that appeared to have been charred by a fire.

A local resident told FOX13 that the building belonged to an abandoned church.
