Kennewick man arrested for car and gun theft in Pend Oreille County

KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man was arrested Monday at a Kennewick hotel for possession of a stolen vehicle and weapons out of Pend Oreille County, according to Kennewick police.

At approximately 12:36 p.m., officers found the stolen vehicle while on patrol in the 300 block of North Ely Street. The vehicle had been stolen along with several weapons during a burglary.

According to the KPD, a pistol was found in the unoccupied vehicle during the investigation.

Officers later gained access to a video showing the burglary suspect entering a room in the hotel, where he was proven to still be staying.

NonStop Local typically does not disclose suspects’ names until charges are officially filed against them.

A search warrant was obtained and all persons in the room were arrested, including the suspect, a convicted felon who was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. The other persons in the room were released, although they too could face charges after all evidence is collected.

During the investigation, drugs were found in the hotel room and a pistol hidden in a ventilation shaft was discovered.

Both the Pasco Police Department and the Richland Police Department assisted throughout the investigation.
