KENNEWICK, Washington – Heat and disaster warnings end tonight.

These apply to temperatures in the three-digit range and an increased risk of fire. The fire risk arises from warm, dry conditions combined with wind.

The heat warning ends at 10 p.m. tonight. The heat warning ends at 11 p.m. Tonight will be clear and temperatures will cool to around 18 °C, but it will remain windy with gusts of around 32 to 40 km/h.

For the longer period (Saturday to Wednesday):

1. Windy conditions on the eastern slopes and in the gaps of the Cascade Mountains pose a fire hazard.

2. Risk of thunderstorms this Saturday and Sunday (also risk of fire)

3. It stays dry and warm.
