Healing by the Water Music Festival Returns to Freedom Park

Beginning Thursday, July 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., the Friends of Freedom Park will kick off the 2004 celebration series known as Healing by the Water. The entire community is invited to attend this special weekly event at the Freedom Park Amphitheater. Thursday night events include live music, food and a vendor market, all in an inspiring waterfront venue that is considered one of Buffalo’s most recently reimagined waterfront destinations.

Each year, hundreds of people gather at the waterfront to take part in this series of free events. In fact, the festival has grown year over year, meaning many people choose to walk to the event (from Niagara Street) or bike, as parking is limited at Freedom Park (formerly Broderick Park, near the foot of Ferry Street).

Live music starts at 5pm, so people are advised to arrive a little early to secure a spot in the amphitheater.

As for the venue itself, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper put it best: Friends of Freedom Park has worked to make the park a family, cultural and community destination. Our goal is to restore and transform the park into a welcoming and accessible green space that shares its history. Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper is proud to support Friends of Freedom Park to amplify the history, enhance the beauty and encourage our community to enjoy all that Freedom Park has to offer.
