Bonney Lake father tells child via text message that he killed mother

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – Pierce County officials were called to a Bonney Lake home Friday to check on welfare after receiving a frightening text message.

Someone had called 911 and said his father had sent him a text message saying he had killed his mother.

When officers arrived at the residence in Rhododendron Park, they found the 53-year-old woman dead.

A report about the father and his vehicle was immediately sent to law enforcement agencies across the state.

About three hours later, the man was found by Auburn police at the Chevron gas station at 2802 Auburn Way South.

The 53-year-old suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
