ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 News) – A police chase led to a serious accident on the Seminole Trail on Friday morning.

An Albemarle County police officer observed a stolen vehicle driving erratically along the Seminole Trail.

The officer attempted to stop the driver, but he sped away. The stolen vehicle then crashed into two other cars at the intersection of Greenbrier Drive.

The driver and passenger of the stolen car were both minors and were taken to UVA Medical Center. One of the teens suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the other is in serious condition.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were examined on site; their injuries were not life-threatening.

A firearm was also seized from the suspects’ vehicle at the crime scene.

The accident remains under investigation. ACPD is asking anyone with information to contact ACPD or Crime Stoppers.
