Man shot dead by police officer on Ella Boulevard, HCSO says

HOUSTON – Authorities with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are at the scene of a shooting in north Houston.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that deputies arrived at a gas station at the intersection of FM 1960 and Ella Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Initial reports said a man was brandishing a gun on FM 1960 and approaching the gas station. A deputy arrived on scene and exchanged a few words with the man, authorities said. At some point, shots were fired inside the gas station.

The officer reportedly shot the suspect in the leg. The man was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.
