Oklahoma State RB arrested on suspicion of drunk driving

Oklahoma State running back and Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.

A Cleveland County, Oklahoma, police officer reported seeing Gordon swerving in his black 2024 Cadillac. The vehicle was clocked at 82 miles per hour in a 65-mile zone, according to an affidavit.

The officer stopped the vehicle, smelled alcohol and found half-full bottles of vodka and tequila inside, the affidavit states.

Gordon, 20, was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Jail with breath alcohol levels of 0.11 and 0.10, respectively.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office said Gordon posted bail and was released Sunday.

It was not immediately clear whether Gordon had a lawyer.

Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. He won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back, finished seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting and was an Associated Press first-team All-American. On Tuesday, he was named the Big 12’s best preseason offensive player.

An Oklahoma State spokesman said the school was aware of the situation.
