Prosecutors said Medina was a suspect in an incident around 3:20 p.m. Saturday in which numerous shots were fired from an illegal handgun at a vehicle with passengers inside in the 1600 block of Bailey Avenue , near Pullman Place.

No one in the vehicle was injured, prosecutors said, but a 53-year-old woman was shot while standing near a window in her apartment. She was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of a lower abdominal injury.

Medina was arrested by officers who saw her flee the scene. They said they recovered a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.
