Norfolk Naval Shipyard employee found dead, investigation ongoing

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) employee was found dead in the shipyard’s parking lot Saturday morning.

The employee was identified Monday by a NNSY spokesman as Paul Britton. Britton worked in the temporary staffing department.

He was found unconscious in his vehicle at around 6:30 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

NCIS is investigating Britton’s death, but no foul play is suspected.
