NFL player arrested for drug offenses in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Alabama (WHNT) — NFL player Ke’Montae Tayvon “Tae” Hayes, a cornerback for the New York Jets, was arrested Sunday morning in Morgan County on drug charges.

According to jail records, Hayes was charged with possession of marijuana and booked into the Morgan County Jail around 3:45 a.m. He was given a $300 bond and released around 5:07 a.m.

Jail records show the 26-year-old NFL player was arrested by the Trinity Police Department.

Hayes was a star player at Decatur High School and played college football at Appalachian State before entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He has played for the Jaguars, Dolphins, Vikings, Cardinals, Panthers, Patriots, Lions, Ravens and now the Jets.

Hayes was also part of Birmingham’s 2022 USFL championship team.
