Second suspect arrested in connection with Salt Lake City murder

Another suspect in connection with the killing of Nico Christopher Patino has been arrested.

Nay Blusoe, 21, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice, Salt Lake City police officials said.

The investigation began shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday when officials said they received “multiple calls” about a shooting near 1800 West Fortune Road.

Officers found Patino with a gunshot wound and said he died at the scene.

Detectives from the SLCPD Homicide Unit responded and reportedly concluded that Patino’s killing was a coordinated attack involving multiple shooters on foot and in a car. Blusoe was identified as one of the shooters.

Blusoe reportedly fled the state and went to Detroit, Michigan, but returned on June 23 – when officers from the SLCPD’s Airport Division arrested him at Salt Lake City International Airport.

This is the second arrest in this case and the investigation is ongoing. Officials are asking anyone with information to call 801-799-3000 or submit an anonymous tip through the City Protect app and reference case number 24-113488.
