The hazy heat will remain in the Bronx until Friday; thunderstorms will follow over the weekend

An air quality warning is active from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

NEXT: The hottest day will be Friday, with highs in the 90s and a few lows in the 90s. A slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the Bronx and possibly a shower in Brooklyn.

At the weekend, the probability of rain showers or thunderstorms is higher on both days, but the rule is a matter of luck.

NIGHT: Temperatures will remain warm between 25 and 25 degrees. It will be humid, nasty and partly cloudy.

FRIDAY: Highs around 35 degrees, heat indexes feeling like 35 to 40 degrees. Lots of sunshine. A few sudden afternoon thunderstorms possible. Lows in the 25 to 25 degrees, another warm and humid night.

SATURDAY: Temperatures will reach 30 degrees, but could reach 35 degrees in some areas. There is a chance this will be the third day of 30 degrees or more, so this could be our heatwave! We will have to wait and see what the day before brings. Hazy, hot, humid and we could see some thunderstorms.

SUNDAY: Just over 35 degrees again! Lows will fall to just under 24 degrees. There is also a risk of storms on Sunday.

MONDAY: We are tracking a frontal system that could bring more organized storms to start the work week. Highs in the 30s, plenty of sunshine and warmth. Lows in the 21s.

TUESDAY: Highs between 27 and 30 degrees, lows around 21 degrees. Partly sunny.

WEDNESDAY: Highs around 35 degrees, lows around 21 degrees. Sun and clouds.

THURSDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 30 degrees, lows around 18 degrees. Hopefully this is the start of some “cooler” but still warm weather.
