Country superstar prays for teenager attacked by shark

Country music star Luke Bryan shows his love and support for a teenager who was attacked by a shark on a Florida beach.

Lulu Gribbin, 15, was one of three shark attacks that occurred on June 7 in Watersound and Seacrest Beach, Florida.

Anna Blair Gribbin, Lulu’s mother, has set up a Caring Bridge page to keep friends, family and the public updated on her daughter’s recovery.

“I came across a group of people surrounding someone on the ground and looked down. There was Lulu. Ellie found me and said, ‘Mommy, there’s Lulu.’ I saw her wounds on her leg and started screaming. She was lifeless, her eyes were closed, her mouth was white and pale,” her mother wrote on the page. “The wound on her leg, or whatever was left of her leg, looked like something out of a movie.”

Although Lulu is still alive, her left hand and right leg had to be amputated.

Bryan, who often vacations in Florida, learned of Lulu’s survival story and shared a video with the family.

“I have children who have played down there their whole lives,” Bryan said in the video. “When I heard your story, I continued follow-up visits to check on your progress. I wanted you to know that we are thinking of you and praying for your speedy recovery. I can’t even imagine what you have been through.”

Other celebrities such as Eli Manning, Josh Lucas, Caitlin Clark and others have shared videos with their thoughts and prayers for Lulu and her family, which can also be found on Lulu’s Instagram page.

Updates on Lulu’s condition and recovery will be posted daily on the Caring Bridge site.
