Frank Stronach is accused of sexually harassing three complainants: Document

Canadian businessman and billionaire Frank Stronach is accused of sexually harassing three different female plaintiffs in alleged incidents in Toronto and Aurora, Ontario, according to a court document filed this week.

Canadian businessman and billionaire Frank Stronach is accused of sexually harassing three separate female plaintiffs in alleged incidents in Toronto and Aurora, Ontario, according to a court document filed this week.

The document detailing the charges against the 91-year-old states that the alleged incidents took place in 1980, 1986 and last year.

Peel Region Police said last week that Stronach had been charged with rape, sexual assault of a woman, false imprisonment and two counts of sexual assault, but details of the charges were scarce.

Court documents filed this week say Stronach was ordered to surrender his passports and not to communicate with any of the three plaintiffs.

Stronach’s attorney Brian Greenspan said his client “categorically denies the allegations of inappropriate conduct” and looks forward to “the opportunity to fully respond to the allegations and preserve his legacy.”

Stronach rose to prominence in Canadian business as the founder and former chief executive of one of the country’s largest auto parts makers, Magna International. A Magna spokesman said last week that Stronach relinquished control of the company more than a decade ago and is no longer associated with it.

Stronach resigned as CEO of Magna in 2011 and resigned from his entire board the following year as he founded a political party called Team Stronach in his native Austria.

Stronach became one of Canada’s richest people by founding Magna in his garage in 1957 and building the company into one of the world’s largest auto parts suppliers.

He also founded The Stronach Group, a company specializing in horse racing, and in 2018, Stronach International, a company focused on organic food and “microelectric mobility.”

According to police, Stronach was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in Brampton, Ontario on July 8.
