According to Apple Valley police, the victim of the May assault is now suspected of being involved in a domestic violence incident that occurred immediately before the assault.

Authorities responded to a reported assault in the 21000 block of Outer Highway 18 South on Tuesday, May 14. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Alphonso Deshawn Lee Faulks, with numerous injuries.

Faulks was treated at a trauma center before his release.

The suspect in this alleged attack, Frankie Devaughn Lucas Jr., fled the scene but was tracked down and arrested on May 22. He was later released on bail.

Authorities arrested Faulks on Monday and later charged him with assault on his spouse or domestic partner and assault on a spouse or domestic partner. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

There was no information on whether Lucas was acquitted of all criminal offenses.
