2 dead after motorcycle accident on Morrison Bridge

According to police, no other vehicles were involved.

PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) — Two people died in a motorcycle crash in Portland on Thursday evening, authorities said.

At approximately 8:04 p.m., the Portland Police Bureau responded to a crash near Southeast Water Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street. Two people were found dead. A crashed motorcycle was found near the ramp from the eastbound Morrison Bridge to northeastbound I-5.

PPB believes that the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were then “thrown over the barrier into a parking lot below.” No other vehicles were likely involved.

Due to the investigation, the Morrison Bridge eastbound ramp to northbound I-5 and Southeast Water Avenue between Southeast Yamhill Street and Southeast Alder Street was initially closed. However, at around 9:30 p.m., police reported that the Morrison Bridge was open in both directions.
