New iOS 18 update shows the clock even if the iPhone is dead

It is time for such an update.

Apple’s iOS 18 update for iPhones and other devices seems to be a very subtle but handy upgrade for people with dead phones.

According to 9to5Mac.com, when the new operating system is released this fall, the current time will be displayed in the upper left corner of the device even if the battery is empty.

The current time can still be displayed on a defective iPhone with iOS 18. ant_t99/Reddit

The new feature was first discovered by a Reddit user earlier this week and was praised by commenters.

“OH, that’s nice,” added another.

Now, even without cellular reception or Wi-Fi, a person can point their device at a nearby satellite to send messages.

Additionally, trail maps are available in case service is unavailable, and the Emergency SOS feature now offers live streaming.

It is also reported that users can now control the radius and beam of an iPhone flashlight from wide to straight angle.
