Two people arrested after traffic stop in Orange County

NEWBURGH, NY (NEWS10) — Two people were arrested Monday following a traffic stop in Newburgh. Aden Albino, 19, of Newburgh, and Yael Garcia, 20, of Newburgh, face several charges.

According to State Police Troop F, a 2005 Honda Pilot was stopped for a traffic violation. Police identified Albino as the driver and Garcia as the passenger.


Police said they saw an open beer can in the car and after searching the vehicle, found a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 Ghost pistol with ammunition in a hidden compartment under the passenger seat. A sniffer dog searched the car and found about one gram of LSD and about 562 grams of cannabis.

According to police, a search of the center console revealed four switches for the AR-15’s fully automatic mode.

  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Third degree criminal possession of a weapon, ammunition feeding device
  • Criminal possession of a rapid-fire modification device (AR-15 fully automatic switch) (four counts)
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree
  • Illegal possession of cannabis

Both were arraigned at the Orange County Central Arraignment. They were transported to the Orange County Jail.
