Motorcyclist killed in accident in Muscatine County

MUSCATINE COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist died after an accident this afternoon in Muscatine County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, just after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10, a motorcyclist driving a 2022 Kawasaki was traveling south on Highway 38. Meanwhile, the driver of a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder attempted to turn west at the intersection of Highway 38 and Brookview Road. The motorcyclist struck the Nissan, and the car ended up in the southbound lanes of Highway 38. The motorcyclist continued driving and was then struck by a 2011 Jeep Liberty traveling north on the highway.

The motorcyclist was killed in the accident and the driver of the Nissan was taken to hospital for his injuries. No further information on his condition was released.

The names of the drivers involved have not been released. The accident is still under investigation.
