• Megan Thee Stallion in concert at the Toyota Center | Friday Saturday – The Houston rap star invades the Toyota Center stage for consecutive evenings, just days before the late June release of his announced new album, Megane. $100 and up. 7 p.m.
• Juneteenth: a musical journey through the ages at the Miller Outdoor Theater | Friday and Saturday | FREE – This special two-night concert series offers a poignant exploration of the evolution of black music, as well as the reflections and impacts of history. Each evening features different themes, from R&B, gospel and blues from the 1960s to 1980s, to the rise of hip-hop and beyond from 1980 to 2000. 8 p.m.
• Comedian Tommy Davidson at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – The actor and comedian, known for the hit series In living color, performs five shows throughout the weekend. The veteran entertainer brings hilarity to dozens of films and TV shows, so prepare for lots of laughs. $54 and up. Hours vary.
• Tokyo X Festival at NRG Center | Saturday Sunday – Houston’s largest Japanese festival, the two-day Tokyo , a car showcase, anime, cosplay, music, live shows, and much more. Saturday $40; Sunday $35. Hours vary.

• Mondays with Molly: Jack Mason Wine Dinner at Navy Blue – Head to the renowned River Oaks Restaurant for a four-course wine-paired dinner, led by wine director and sommelier Molly Austad. $150. 7 p.m.
• Monday movie night in Axelrad | No coverage – The weekly outdoor screening evening at the Neon Garden hosts a series of LGBTQ+ films to celebrate Pride Month. This week they will play Hedwig and the angry thumb, with drink specials like a prickly pear margarita for Pride Month. 9 p.m.

Tuesday June 11, 2024

• Trivia Tuesday: Sports in the 80s at the Post Houston | No coverage – Head to the Post Houston food hall for a Tuesday evening trivia session, themed around 80s sports. Scan the QR codes found on the screens to get started. 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Comedian Connor Wood at Houston Improv – The California comedian stops by Spring Branch on his Fibs & Friends tour, following a huge success in 2023, where he was named Comic to Watch at the New York Comedy Festival. $120 for 4 and more. 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

• Bingo evening under the big top | FREE – Take part in bingo and live music, plus bourbon from Milam & Greene at nightlife spot Mid Main. 7 p.m.
• Couples Therapy: A Relationship-Themed Comedy Show at Houston Improv – Perfect for married couples, newlyweds, first dates and singles, experience a unique relationship-themed comedy show at Houston Improv. $60 for 4 and more. 7:30 p.m.
• Queerlympics at Pearl Bar | FREE – The long-running lesbian bar on Washington Avenue hosts a bimonthly series that tests the abilities of a two-person team in games like beer pong, cornhole, dildo toss and other games. Registration begins at 8 p.m. 9 p.m. to midnight.

• Craft Brewery Stroll on 19th Street – Stroll down 19th Street in the heart of the Heights and sample beers from several breweries, poured into a signature 19th Street pint that you can take home. $20. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Flor de Cana Dinner at Lymbar – Brand ambassador Luis Baez and guest chef Dominick Lee of Augustine serve dishes like duck carnitas, Wellinton pepito and more, with each dish paired with a different Flor de Cana rum. $98 per person. 6:30 p.m.
• Taxis and dads at Pappas Bros. Steak House – The Galleria Steak House will feature a wine tasting exploring carefully curated selections from around the world representing some of the world’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon. $150 per person, plus tax and tip. 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Martini Theater at DTO: Pride Edition at Daiquiri Time Out | No coverage – Mark Pride Month with a weekly film screening series – this week featuring the 2000 film, X-Men— while enjoying drinks and food from Con Lágrimas. 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

• The Marshall Tucker Band in concert at Home Run Dugout – Katy’s Baseball Bar is home to the ensemble, known for incorporating blues, country and jazz into an eclectic sound all its own. Helping to create the southern rock genre, the group has been performing and recording records for half a century. $45. 6:30 p.m.
• Noche de Cumbia Festival in Axelrad | FREE – Take part in the biggest cumbia party in town. Head to Third Ward beer garden for an evening of live music from Sonido Sabotaje, Susobrino, Movimiento Cumbia and more. 21 years and over. 7 p.m.
• Harold and Kumar go to the White Castle 20th Anniversary Outdoor Movie Night at Asia Society Texas Center – Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the classic Stoner comedy, Asia Society Texas is hosting an outdoor screening, featuring a Burger-chan version of the White Castle slider, a trivia game and free beer, soju and cocktails. $30. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• 2nd Annual Juneteenth Comedy Fest at the Galveston Convention Center – An all-star lineup headlines this evening of laughter, marking not only the importance of the holiday, but Galveston’s unique role in it. Thea Vidale will be joined by Ben Jackson, Lotto Marie, Craig Bush, Pokey Simmons and many more. $25.99 and up. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• Actress Celeste Barber at 713 Music Hall – The Australian comedian and social media personality is coming to Houston as part of her Backup Dancer tour. With over seven million followers on Instagram, Barber counts Cindy Crawford and Kris Jenner among his fans and is the host of the show Celeste and her best podcast. $53 and up. 8 p.m.
• ITZY in concert at the Smart Financial Center – The South Korean girl group, known for its energetic tracks and themes of female empowerment, performs live in Sugar Land. Since the launch of their debut album in 2019, they have won fans around the world. $72 and up. 8 p.m.
• Biscits DJ Set at Stereo Live – The tech house DJ and producer performs a live set. EDM.com called his single “From the Start” “irresistible,” while Lowdown Magazine praised his “Me & U” for its “powerful vocals, groovy basslines and dynamic construction”. $14.99. 10 p.m.

• Houston Pink Boots Society Beer Festival at Bad Astronaut Brewing – Rescheduled from May, this first annual festival features a range of Pink Boots collaborations with local breweries, as well as live music, spray art demonstrations, vendors, delicious food and door prizes. It celebrates Pink Boots’ mission to provide scholarships, education and support to women and non-binary members in the fermentation and alcohol industries. $35; $20 for non-drinking tickets. From noon to 5 p.m.
• An Unforgettable Wine Walk at the Houston Botanical Garden – Enjoy the beauty of nature and sip wine while strolling through the garden in South Houston. Look for live music, live painting and an educational experience on June 17 as well as three different wines from the Pur Noire portfolio. $45. 6 p.m.
• Sunset & Sounds: Summer Concert Series with Matthew Logan Vasquez at the Lucine Hotel | No coverage – The rooftop bar overlooking the beach at Galveston’s new boutique hotel will host Matthew Logan Vasquez, singer-songwriter and guitarist for indie rock band Delta Spirit and member of indie supergroup Middle Brother. 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball June 17 at Moody Gardens Hotel –Join the Galveston Council of Greeks for a major event celebrating the Juneteenth heritage on the island. Guests will wear their tuxedos and dresses with fashionable sneakers to mark this iconic celebration. $85 and up. 8 p.m.
• Os Mutantes in concert at the Continental Club – Present since the 1960s, the very influential Brazilian rock group arrives for an intimate concert in the heart of Mid Main. $30 and up. 9 p.m.
• Grum DJ set at Bauhaus – The Scottish electronic musician and producer has been thrilling the public since the release of his album, Heartbeat, in 2010. Today, he brings his talents to the downtown EDM venue. $15 and up. 10 p.m.
• A sexy pride show at the Social Beer Garden | FREE – A line-up of fierce drag queens take over the Midtown beer garden with an evening of fabulous performances, glamour, laughter and a celebration of love and diversity. 21 years and over. 10:30 p.m.

Sunday June 16, 2024

• Famous Drag Brunch at Bar Boheme – Meet on the terrace of Bar Boheme on Fairview for one of the best drag brunches in town. Enjoy delicious food, a live DJ and fabulous drag shows every Sunday in June. Reservations required; $39 per person, includes access to the brunch buffet and the show. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with two-hour shows at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• Steak and Bordeaux Tasting Experience at Mutiny Wine Room – Celebrate Dad’s special day with Chef Eduardo’s new Ribeye for Two, featuring Hasselback Potato, Charred Tomato and Spring Onion Salad, Mozzarella Burrata and Toasted Sourdough Focaccia at Mutiny Wine Room . Reservations strongly suggested. $75 for two. 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Juneteenth Cultural Festival on Avenida Houston | FREE – Along Avenida and in Discovery Green, this Juneteenth celebration features a full evening of live music, BLCK Market vendors, food trucks and a final fireworks display to close out the night. 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
