Charges filed in Madisonville shooting | NewsRadio 1230 AM/99.3 FM | Hopkinsville’s News Leader

A woman was arrested in Madisonville after allegedly firing a gun during an argument at the Days Inn in Madisonville on Thursday.

According to the Madisonville Police Department report, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Days Inn around 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning. The investigation revealed that two people were screaming in the field across from the hotel when the shots were fired.

Contact was made with Brianna Whitfield, who allegedly attempted to leave the area. She told officers that she had a weapon on her. She told them that she got into an argument with another person and became angry, so she pulled out the gun and fired into the air.

Due to the proximity to the person, the caller, and the populated area, she was charged with first degree willful endangerment.
