1 dead after suspected drunk driver crashes into Elyria home: OSHP

ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) – Investigators say a woman died Friday morning after a suspected drunk driver ransacked a home in Elyria.

Sergeant Bridget Matt of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) says the 2005 Ford 500 crashed into the home on West Ridge Road at 1:07 a.m.

According to OSHP, the woman, identified as 46-year-old Holly Houle of Elyria, veered off the right side of the road and struck the house.

According to OSHP, emergency medical services transported Houle to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

According to OSHP, alcohol and excessive speed are suspected to be the cause of the accident; the accident is still under investigation.
