Young woman charged in Bedford shooting that left her mother dead and father seriously injured – Boston 25 News

BEDFORD, Massachusetts — A young woman is facing charges in connection with a shooting in Bedford Thursday morning that left a woman, believed to be her mother, dead and a man, believed to be her father, with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Around 9 a.m., officers received a 911 call from a resident of 11 Washington Street who reported that a young woman living in the home had just admitted to shooting her parents, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

The caller then went outside and found two people with gunshot wounds in a car parked on an adjacent lawn, Ryan said during a press conference late in the morning.

A 56-year-old Bedford woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 56-year-old man, also from Bedford, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Ryan said. A handgun was also recovered at the scene.

Jessica Cavallaro, 24, of Bedford was arrested on charges including murder, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury and unlawful possession of a firearm, Ryan said.

When asked if the victims were Cavallaro’s parents, Ryan said, “That is what we know at this time.”

According to Ryan, Cavallaro is the “partner” of a resident who lived in the house from which the 911 call came, but who lives in another house on Washington Street.

The victims lived in another part of Bedford and it was not immediately clear why they were in the area, Ryan noted.

Bedford Police Chief John Fisher warned residents to avoid the area due to heavy police presence and road closures.

Cavallaro is scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Thursday afternoon.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates as more information becomes available.
