The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several serious incidents

Shooting Investigation: The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several serious incidents that occurred on June 1 and 2, 2024.

On Saturday evening, June 1, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that resulted in an 8-year-old juvenile sustaining life-threatening injuries in a motor vehicle. The juvenile was flown to an area hospital for treatment and is listed in serious condition as of this morning.

Officers also received a report of multiple gunshots in the area of ​​Ritter Road. Investigators who examined the scene recovered over 100 shell casings. As of this morning, no casualties have been reported from this shooting.

Additionally, an adult male was injured by gunshot wounds at the Chase Lounge, located on River Street near Hampton Street. That victim was also taken to a hospital and is in serious condition.
