It’s time to check for updates for your Alert FM device | News

SHASTA COUNTY, California. – The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind owners of Alert FM devices that it is time to make sure the devices are functioning properly.

Alert FM is a device that receives notifications via FM radio signals in the event of an emergency or crisis. This device helps people living in areas with limited or no internet and cellular reception to receive emergency alerts.

The manufacturer states that you should update your device’s firmware regularly. This can be done via a phone app.

Once the app is downloaded, simply follow the instructions to make sure your device is up to date.

If problems occur, device owners should call 866-8696-5180 for assistance.

The sheriff’s office says it will announce the time and date of the next round of testing through social media and news channels.
