Noisy party in Potomac mansion leads to investigation

Montgomery County officials told WTOP they are investigating a report of a wild house party in Potomac over Memorial Day weekend.

Residents of a Potomac, Maryland, neighborhood are reportedly furious over a wild house party that took place over Memorial Day weekend. Montgomery County officials told WTOP they are investigating the incident.

Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Shiera Goff said the police department is investigating the party.

According to MoCo360, neighbors said they saw tour buses dropping off partygoers in swimsuits outside the house on Stapleford Hall Road on Saturday and dozens of cars blocking the road. It appears to have been a for-profit pool party that was being promoted on social media.

County Council Chairman Andrew Friedson’s office told WTOP that the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Services, along with other county agencies, are conducting investigations that could at least constitute a commercial use violation.

Officials did not inspect the house allegedly in question. It is also unclear to what extent the homeowners were involved in the incident.

WTOP also reached out to the office of Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich.
