Police say a man was arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle into a tree in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A person was arrested Monday morning after crashing a stolen vehicle south of downtown Lincoln, police said.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near the corner of Second and D Streets.

A police officer at the scene said a person stole a vehicle and drove it into a tree near the intersection.

A video from the NOW Local News app shows the vehicle lying on its side next to the tree.

According to police, the driver was arrested shortly after the accident. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
