ASX warned that its push on race, sexuality and ability on boards was misguided

Company directors will be required to disclose their sexual orientation, age, Indigenous heritage (if any) and disabilities as part of sweeping updates to the ASX corporate principles that some directors, company secretaries and investors say are wrong.

Diane Smith-Gander, chair of Zip Co and a leading diversity advocate, said that while Australian boards understood the need for greater diversity, she was concerned it could become a de facto requirement.
