63-year-old woman hit and killed while crossing the street on a scooter in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Fayetteville on Saturday evening.

According to Fayetteville Police, 63-year-old Rebecca Dunbenit was attempting to cross Cliffdale Road on an electric scooter when she was struck by a vehicle and driven away.

Police said there was no evidence at the scene of the accident as to what type of vehicle struck Dunbenit.

Authorities are searching for the driver who caused the accident.
