VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested after allegedly setting a fire at a Visalia apartment complex, Visalia police said.

Officials said they, along with the Visalia Fire Department, were called to a structure fire at an apartment complex in the 300 block of East Oak Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Friday.

The fire, which police said started in a flowerbed next to the exterior wall, was quickly extinguished by residents, officials and firefighters. There were no injuries, but the exterior wall was badly damaged.

Investigators said surveillance video footage showed a man intentionally set the fire. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Christopher Jones, was located and arrested several hours later. He was booked into the Tulare County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of arson of an occupied structure.
