Bhopal: A man has been booked for raping and kidnapping his 17-year-old cousin from Kolar and kept her in a house in Gandhi Nagar for the last seven months. The accused raped her several times over the months on the pretext of marriage. But when the accused attacked her recently, the girl told her mother about the incident and filed a complaint with Kolar police. A rape case under the IPC and POCSO Act was filed against the accused at Kolar police station on Monday. Police said that the 17-year-old survivor left school after Class 7. In her complaint, she stated that she had come to Kolar in September 2023 to attend a relative’s wedding function. Her cousin brother lured her into a friendship trap and kidnapped her from Kolar. He took her to his house in Gandhi Nagar where he raped her on the pretext of marriage. Under his pressure, the minor girl continued to hide and misled her parents by claiming that she was staying in one of her relatives’ house in Kolar. However, when the accused recently attacked the girl and refused to marry her, she told her mother about the incident and reported the matter to Kolar police. A case of kidnapping and rape was registered against the accused.
