Pennsylvania man convicted of sexually assaulting woman after carrying her groceries

DESHONG WAS ESCORTATING THE VICTIM HOME WITH HER BAGS WHEN THEY ARRIVED THE HOUSE ON EAST PARK STREET. DESHONG USED THE RELAXATION AND THEN CAME OUT WITH A COLLAR AROUND HIS FACE AND SUNGLASSES. THEN HE HAD THE VICTIM AT KNIFE POINT AND SAID, QUOTE: “NOW YOU WILL LIVE OUT YOUR FAVORITE FANTASY.” THEN HE ATTACKED THE VICTIM

Lancaster County man convicted of sexually assaulting woman after carrying her groceries

A Lancaster County man was sentenced to six and a half to 13 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman after carrying her groceries home, according to prosecutors. Drew Deshong, 36, of Elizabethtown, pleaded guilty on April 24 to charges of aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault – coercion, aggravated assault, strangulation, false identification to authorities, possession of methamphetamine, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. The victim stated that she was shopping on October 17, 2022, when Deshong approached her and offered to carry her groceries. While they were walking to the woman’s Elizabethtown home, Deshong told her there was a warrant out for his arrest and that he planned to turn himself in. The woman then offered to cook him something as a thank you for carrying her groceries. While the victim was cooking, Deshong went to the bathroom. The victim said he came out wearing sunglasses and a bandana. He also had a knife and allegedly told the victim, “Now you’re going to live out your favorite fantasy.” Deshong then physically and sexually assaulted the victim before she was able to escape and call police from a neighbor’s house, police said. Police said they found Deshong wearing the victim’s robe and methamphetamine in his clothes, which were left at the victim’s apartment. According to police, Deshong told them in an interview that he approached the victim because “she seemed like a nice lady.”

The victim stated that she was shopping on October 17, 2022, when Deshong approached her and offered to carry her purchases.

On the way to the woman’s home in Elizabethtown, Deshong told her that there was a warrant out for his arrest and that he planned to turn himself in.

As a thank you for carrying her shopping, the woman offered to prepare him something to eat.

While the victim was cooking, Deshong went into the bathroom. The victim said he came out wearing sunglasses and a bandana around his face.

He also had a knife with him and allegedly told the victim: “Now you are going to live out your favorite fantasy.”

Deshong then physically and sexually assaulted the victim before she was able to escape and call police from a neighbor’s house, police said.

Police said they found Deshong wearing the victim’s clothing and that methamphetamine was found in his clothing, which was left at the victim’s apartment.

According to police, Deshong said in an interview that he approached the victim because “she seemed like a nice lady.”
