Pune teenager spotted driving Porsche Taycan the day before crash that killed two people | Video

New video footage has emerged in the Pune Porsche crash case showing the 17-year-old accused behind the wheel of the same Porsche he was allegedly driving on the night of the tragic incident. The video was shot just a day before the accident.

The video went viral after the accused’s family claimed that he was not behind the wheel at the time of the accident that killed two young IT professionals.

In the footage, the accused teenager can be seen getting out of his Porsche car with a friend on the driver’s side. He then meets his friends and enters the premises.

Pune police had earlier said they were trying to prove that the Porsche that hit and killed two people in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar was not driven by a 17-year-old. The driver, who was employed by his family, was pressured to take responsibility for the accident.

A local court ordered the remand of the six accused arrested in the case, including the teenager’s father, Vishal Agarwal, despite police demanding their continued detention.

There is enough evidence that the teenager was driving the car, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar told PTI.

“We have the CCTV footage of him (the youth) drinking alcohol in the bar… He was of sound mind and knew full well that due to his behaviour such an accident can happen to which Section 304 of the Penal Code is applicable,” said Kumar. Section 304 deals with intentional killing, which is not considered murder.

“In the course of our investigation, it turned out that the teenager was driving the car and we have already collected all the necessary chronological evidence. For example, when the teenager left the house, the entry in the security register shows that he drove away in the car,” said the commissioner.

Porsche accident in Pune: What happened so far

On May 19, a Porsche allegedly driven by the teenager, who police said was drunk, killed two software engineers riding motorcycles in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area. However, the case was mired in controversy from the start.

The teenager was initially released on bail by the Juvenile Justice Department and required to write a 300-word essay on road accidents, but following outrage over the lenient treatment and a review request from the police, he was sent to an observation home until June 5.

After the case attracted media attention, police also arrested the teenager’s father, real estate agent Vishal Agarwal, and his grandfather Surendra Agarwal in connection with the accident.

Meanwhile, in another controversial development, Maharashtra arrested two doctors from Sassoon Hospital in Pune for allegedly tampering with the blood test of the accused 17-year-old boy.
