Ross High School Principal Brian Martin said in an email to students that 17-year-old Briana Tzeiranaskis died in an early morning accident during her penultimate year of school, our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati reported.

“It is with a heavy heart that I write to you (Sunday) to share with you some very sad news,” he said. “One of our beloved students, junior Briana Tzeiranaskis, tragically passed away in a car accident. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.”

Butler County Sheriff’s officers were dispatched to Cincinnati Brookville Road near Scott Street and Alert New London Road around 2:30 a.m. after initial reports of a crash were received.

Martin added that the school district will provide support to both students and staff, WCPO said.

Counselors will be at Ross High School on Tuesday afternoon from 1-3 p.m.
