Man arrested for damaging Lancaster, NH store, allegedly drove into it the next day – Boston News, Weather, Sports

LANCASTER, NH (WHDH) – A Lancaster, New Hampshire man who was arrested Thursday for allegedly damaging property at a supermarket allegedly returned to the store the next day and drove his car through the store’s front door, police said.

According to police, officers who rushed to the Big Apple Store on Main Street around 10 p.m. Thursday arrested Richard Ruddy, 35, on charges of disturbing the peace, breaching bail conditions, criminal damage and criminal destruction.

He was released on bail on condition that he not return to the store.

But on Friday at 12:57 a.m., police say he was seen in the parking lot. When a police officer approached him, he sped up and crashed into the store’s front door. The store was closed and no one was in the store at the time.

He was arrested again, this time for breach of bail, trespassing and serious damage to property.

Ruddy was taken to the Coos County House of Corrections pending a hearing in Lancaster 1st District Court.
