Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi has alleged that the Swati Maliwal case is a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and that Maliwal is being used as a pawn by the BJP.

Maliwal, an AAP Rajya Sabha MP, has alleged that she was attacked by Bibhav Kumar, the personal assistant (PA) of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, at the CM’s residence while he was present in the House . Kumar was arrested in the case.

Atishi further alleged that the BJP was using the corruption case against Maliwal to turn her into a pawn.

Maliwan, a former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), is accused of irregularities in the recruitment of employees at DCW. It is being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).

“This entire Swati Maliwal incident is a conspiracy hatched by the BJP. Swati Maliwal is being used as a pawn in this conspiracy as she is under investigation by the ACB (Anti-Corruption Branch). The indictment has been filed against her in the illegal recruitment case and she is about to be sentenced. “This is the BJP’s standard operating procedure,” Atishi said ANI.

Drawing a parallel to BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s case in which women wrestlers had accused him of sexual harassment, Atishi said, “This is the same Delhi Police which did not file an FIR against Brij Bhushan Singh until the court intervened, even though they were women. “Wrestlers sit on the street.”

In this Maliwal case too, Atishi said that the Delhi Police did not act on Kumar’s complaint regarding alleged security breach and trespassing at Kejriwal’s residence by Maliwal.

“The Delhi Police is working as per the instructions of the BJP,” Atishi said.
