Teen found dead in Slidell Lake

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Slidell Police are investigating the drowning of a 15-year-old boy.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 18, at 4:40 p.m


Slidell police officials said they received a call about a possible drowning in Palm Lake.

Authorities said a few minutes earlier, a 15-year-old man jumped into the lake to retrieve an item but never resurfaced.

St. Tammany Fire District 1 and the Slidell Police Department Dive Team were dispatched to the lake for rescue operations.

Officers were able to locate the teen, but the teen was pronounced dead at the scene due to drowning.

Foul play is not suspected at this time.
