Active police investigation in Fort Pierce

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says it is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Fort Pierce on Saturday. The agency released a statement to WPBF 25 News saying, “…at the request of the Fort Pierce Police Department, FDLE is investigating the current officer involved shooting. The investigation is ongoing and we have no further information to share at this time.” The investigation is taking place in the area of N 25th Street and Avenue P. Photos from the scene show an area cordoned off with police tape. Fort Pierce Sheriff’s Office cruisers and St. Lucie County are on scene.
