1 dead in collision in Shaler Township

Allegheny County police were investigating a fatal crash in Shaler Township Friday night. According to police, two vehicles collided in the 3100 block of William Flinn Highway shortly after 7:40 p.m. A driver was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The other driver was not injured. Police said the first driver apparently attempted to turn into the southbound lane and was struck by a northbound vehicle. The name of the deceased man has not been released as detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call county police at 833-ALL-TIPS. Anonymous calls are accepted.
