3 Greene Co. children affected by AMBER Alert found safe – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

CEDARVILLE – Three children who were the subject of an AMBER Alert out of Greene County have been found safe.

According to Cedarville Police Chief Brady Smith, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Cedarville Police were notified that three children had allegedly been abducted by their mother’s boyfriend.

Information about the suspect’s vehicle and children was shared with surrounding law enforcement agencies around 7:20 p.m

Officers then began relaying information to the Ohio State Highway Patrol to raise an AMBER Alert.

At approximately 9 p.m., as the Ohio State Highway Patrol was working to relay information through the emergency alert system, law enforcement was notified that the suspect’s vehicle had been spotted broken down in Madison County.

The three children were found safe and are working to reunite with their mother.

The cause of the vehicle breakdown is unknown.

Smith said police are talking to prosecutors about possible charges against the suspect.

Police believe it all started with an argument between the mother and her boyfriend.
