FOP: At least 1 dead after police-involved shooting in East Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – At least one person was killed in a police-involved shooting Saturday night on the city’s east side, according to Brian Steel, president of the Columbus Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 9.

Columbus Division of Police officers were called to the 4700 block of McAllister Avenue near Whitehall for a shooting just after 7 p.m.

Steel confirmed that at least one person is dead.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are currently unknown.
