CHICAGO – Police began clearing anti-war camps set up by University of Chicago students to protest Israel’s war on Gaza in the school’s main plaza early Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 5 a.m., university police dismantled their tents and began cordoning off many entrances to the main square. This was the ninth day of the camp.

Police threw leaflets to the crowd with a final warning before the students were arrested.

The flyer stated that students who were arrested would face disciplinary sanctions and be placed on disciplinary leave. The arrest wound is trespassing.

A number of protesters left the courtyard and moved to the south side of the courtyard.

It is still unclear how many protesters are still in the square. There was no information about any arrests.
