Oklahoma City police said 59-year-old Jose Thierry Maurice Ryba even tried to get to Darci Lynne Farmer’s home but showed up in Oklahoma City from France hoping to meet her there. The parents of the ventriloquist and the singer were alerted a few weeks ago by suspicious calls from a number in France, according to an arrest warrant. Ryba admitted to police that he purchased Farmer’s personal information, including phone numbers and her address, online. He also said he was scammed online up to six times by people impersonating him, losing up to $10,000. After an appearance at Riverwind Casino on May 2, Ryba was seen leaving Farmer a red gift bag and began taking photos of her, which she described as “weird.” Inside the bag was candy, jewelry and a handwritten note with his information where he mentioned that he hadn’t had enough time with her at the show. >> Download KOCO 5 app. On May 5, the report said Ryba showed up at a church near Farmer’s home, where he told police he hoped to meet her. There he approached her, where he was taken into custody. During an interview with police, he admitted to traveling to the United States in the hope of meeting the teenager. Ryba was taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center where he faces charges of stalking.
